I know okay so the reason why we want gene on the table today is because she's in the middle of what we would term like a healing crisis so flu is totally acceptable to work on during a reflexology session to your comfort level right so if you specifically do not feel comfortable working on somebody who is sick if you are immune compromised if you feel like the flu is is not your thing or you're coming down with something by all means you know let the client know we should reschedule the session blah blah blah I tend to work in the trenches like I know and have had enough clients where it's like come in because we'll flush it out faster and also when we think of when we think of a flu there are four different kinds of flu because there are four different elemental classifications of any disease and then a fifth which is just kind of secondary so we have flus that are hot which is not what gene is experiencing we have flus that are dry and achy which is not what gene is experiencing we have flus that are congesting hardening rigidify which is not what she's experiencing however we do have flus that are wet cold and mucousy which is exactly what she's experiencing so we have an infection of water would be the best way to say it so although you know we're going to be doing the reflexology we're gonna be doing the exact same routine that we do every single time you know we're clearing the zones were doing the relaxation techniques blah blah blah as we're in the reflexes will find validation for that but then also knowing her particular brand of flu type symptoms kind of listening to our symptoms she's snotty she's stuffy she's nasally she has a paler complexion I would ask if she's hot or cold all probably before we get started I'll grab a blanket throw it on top of her after the session we would want to suggest warming herbs warming foods soul food chicken soup would be very appropriate warming spices like ginger clove cardamom allspice like all of the things that are gonna make you go mmm you know all of those all those wintery spices that we would use to literally heat the body back up we would want to get into her system to flush out that that water I've been drinking chai tea lately perfect excellent so appropriate for for all that so lots of lots of kind of nuances and then the fifth type of flu would be a flute that's caused by something else like a chemotherapy we were talking about earlier or some sort of kind of secondary infection that's causing flu type symptoms which are not related but for here we have a pretty cutting cut and dry or cut and wet weather kind of reasoning for what we're doing but we're just gonna go through the whole 30 minute foot routine - the towels since they're still cold which would be totally appropriate if the person had a fire flue and if they were hot if they needed to get cooled down you could definitely use some cold towels on the ears since the ears are so vascular - like literally cool them down but we would want hot towels and we don't have access to those so just don't hit that part um could you throw me one of the one of the sheiks real quick and we'll just kind of very per just to make sure that she's not too you can hear it so you can hear the wetness if it was more solid she'd be coughing up like chunks like you hear her coffee couple times and then you would hear it like come up but it's almost like she's she's like spooning a pot like you can hear it it's drippy its fleming like all of those things are really important to really think about when you're when you're working with your clients so we'll start with our first two points so we're gonna do solar plexus adrenal so the solar plexus is going to be underneath the diaphragm guideline of the ears which is the Simba conca so we're just gonna hold that for 30 seconds and while we're working feel free to like ask questions and stuff because this is interactive okay and then we'll move to the adrenal which you know don't blink it's literally like right there so we're just shifting down and a little bit in and we're finding that knob that little bump kind of in in the adrenal space of the year so led is watching oh so Edie so something else to be kind of aware of is especially when a client has a flu during the session they might need to call they might need to move around they might get hot so they might get cold so just with that type of clients we're gonna need to be just a little bit more respectful of their process and what they feel they need because it's it's gonna get it can get a little bit messy you know just like we had talked about with aunt Beauty earlier you know things might come to the surface during the session because they're a little bit more active in their healing process so you just start out with Spock and then we're gonna go to ear folding so we're gonna take the lobe and then the middle section and then the upper section and we're gonna draw each of those into the center of the year just to get some circulation yeah so even when I touch that at the top of the ears and fold them forward they feel squishy so it's that it's that feeling of fluid being trapped in the in the reflexes as well okay Spock and from like from a direct aspect were literally moving fluid through the sinuses here so if somebody is particularly like trapped or congested this would be excellent to really get some of that deeper fluid out now we're going to move on to pulling the ears and we're not yanking or just very gently stretching if they feel like a key words would be like I feel like I have water in my ears I feel like I'm underwater or I feel like I'm in a fishbowl you know those kind of things it would be very appropriate to do like half phase half years during a session when you do that I really feel on the right ear almost like these stationed tube is being pulled back and forth mmm interesting so we got some great feedback with that so we're done with the relaxation techniques then we're gonna move over to the right ear and we're gonna do the entire routine on the right ear so everyone is not where's uh where's a drone when you need one so we're gonna start with just our pincer technique we're gonna use the index finger and thumb and we're gonna trace around the outside of the ear three times we've definitely got some fluid along the reflexes just throughout kind of confirming that especially in the low back actually some interesting stuff yeah so like right in through here like a lot of fluid a lot of puffiness so if I wanted to just stay there and kind of work around the way that you the way that you move fluid in the body is by ingesting fluid taking in the appropriate minerals like salts electrolytes but then also movement so if you want to flush fluid from the reflexes it can be totally appropriate to do multiple passes to actually like push the fluid out okay so after our third time then we're just going to clear the zones we're gonna go front three times back three times in horizontal zone one move to horizontal zone two from three times back three times front three times back three times bla bla bla bla bla bla yeah and we're gonna do that with our chopstick finger formation but depending on the ear you might need to get a little bit creative and it's terrible because you can't see me work in the back of the year but now we're working the back of the year Sandy's trying so we're moving on to zone 2 and because the ear is not as extensive of a routine because there's not a lot of surface to work it can go really really quick so if you feel like the ear is taking 15 minutes instead of 30 slow down and really focus on your point work so I'm gonna hold a point right through here in the chest long space more like more like the the kind of armpit nodes would be the best way to say that this point is because it's a little bit more lateral in that zone too we're just gonna hold that use some alternating pressure to stimulate that point she just did the sound healing ceremony okay so now we're doing the back of zone 2 and then like right over the shoulder reflex is freezing like freezing cold so just being aware of those temperature changes will really tell you a lot of information so it's kind of like the body is the body is going minor fevery because of the chill okay so it's hot cold hot cold very much like what what Logan was experiencing should have crapped his ears and go oh and yeah we got some nice liver stuff happening so we're in the belly of zone 3 there's a really congested liver spot so she's maybe had some meals that were a little bit too heavy or and or the body stopped the digestive process to fight whatever it means to fight but when we think of a water condition water conditions are stagnant they're very emotionally based they tend to behave a little bit differently than like a true fiery inflammation so chances are like she hit an emotional block or her body just got way too tired and it just stopped all movement like closed for repairs type stuff okay so now we're doing the back of zone three which can be a little bit tricky because that's where the back of the ear starts to raise and separate so just watch her textures it can be a little bit mountainous back there would be the best way to say it okay so now we'll do a zone four zone four is technically the auditory opening we are not sticking our finger in the ear opening but we are going right outside of it so we're sticking the finger in going right to the edge and then walking out and that will really help the nervous system to process what we're doing because some some clients are like ooh I don't we know stick your finger in my ear and you can say we're not and the body recognizes that as well we're not closing the opening we're going right outside and then we're immediately retreating so that the body knows this is as far as we're going we're not going any farther and then we're moving out Kimberly Dixon said yes I think she means her ears that would be that would be the appropriate interpretation specific Heather's okay so this is not something that I would do with most clients but because Gina is a student I'm doing it because it's also very appropriate so there's a there's like a puddle of congestion in the base of the ear so I'm actually doing a little bit of just deeper kind of stroking of that space kind of pulling the fluid up from the reflexes and getting some of that kind of deeper work to to raise but that's advanced stuff so not for the faint of heart okay that last spot felt really good excellent that pinch there it felt like it was warming up everything yeah okay so that's that's the good stuff and that's the importance of pointe work if you're going to be doing an intricate area right there yeah so now we're on another point it's literally like in outside of hip low back very much QL space yeah very much like a drag so now we're on this other point which is also freezing cold on the back of the year so the back seems to be cold the front seems to be warm and when we see discrepancies like that it we just want to balance the two and the way that we would do that is by you know the routine is just to get you from point A to point B it's just to get you to feel what's present but then the point work is really when you go in and you start to address what you find now we move on to the lube we've got some messy crunchiness in here so we'll probably do some people work and that's okay okay so now I'm using just a little bit more of a circular friction again movement right just to get things nice and awake but if this person was in an inflammatory response I would be using steady holds I would be using more of a calming technique more of a sedate 'iv technique in order to calm down that inflammation so now I'm using my index finger to brace while I work the back of the lobe and again we're finding as we move to the periphery outside the back there's another point so I'm gonna hold that from behind and get that get that one present oh and what's gonna feel really good is I'm gonna hold this point but then I'm also gonna stretch the ear out a little bit to really activate the point very much how we would like hold a point on the foot and then torsion that's making my left ear warm up whoo yeah yeah that's what we want so referral sensations and it's in the heat category which means that we're balancing out some of that fluid all good stuff okay and it's released cool so he just cleared the zone so now we're gonna go around the periphery one more time or three more times rather but one more set of around the periphery yeah I'm drinking fluids constantly the one thing we would want to advise is that the fluids be warm warm or hot preferably not cold because of the nature of her her flu yeah the fluid the fluid II patched through here is definitely decreased and that's excellent the color has changed yeah yes and and that's I mean the ears are so vascular it's easy to produce that change but definitely something that we want to look for same thing with all the other extremities if you're working the extremity in the extremity is not changing color if it's not balancing if it if it's cold and it stays cold if it's hot and it stays hot that's a problem like that means that the body either is doing deeper work or is not receiving as much as it should so now we're back to our relaxation techniques I've been having a lot of you know I don't eat sugar anymore but I've been having a lot of these sugary cough drops and sugary cough syrups and elderberry syrup and I'm not used to all that sugar for this for this particular type of flu sugar in all ways shapes and forms is stimulating an inflammatory so in this case it would be good for her because it would bring that heat to the to the fluid very very good versus if somebody was experiencing a different kind of flu that would not be appropriate but for her it for her it's okay okay well that's good to know so we'll do one more round of Spock and then we'll switch to the other side yeah right control the camera oh did you catch that when you were we were you were doing a seminar oh yeah after you it's like they were like obsessed with the books and then they had you like upside down or something could you just like I just wanted to come over to the other side you can they use station to bond the rights calm down okay so as we're moving things the the tube that she was talking about is feeling movements during the relaxation techniques she you were both to hearing it's okay macelli oh so let's in Civ and we can tell I mean it went that fast like so fast so that's all very interesting and again when we think of fire as an element as being inflammatory and hypersensitive so water and fire share that characteristic fire in a dramatic way so people who have inflammation often experience cramping spasm shooting pain like very dramatic lightning bolt type symptoms and so that's what she's experiencing is the tissues are lighting up more they're they're hyper aware so now we go into clearing our zones you know ii think i de embrace that a little bit of rigidity right on the outside of the neck reflex doesn't feel nearly as squishy on the left ya know in fact it almost feels just ever so slightly dry there's a nice little groove here that I'm just molding so the game is holding weight when you find that spot that doesn't feel like the other spots you just hold it see how it responds see how the person responds and see if it's a point that's active doesn't feel like this point is changing a lot so I'm going to move on okay and switching so we're bracing on the front and walking on the back yeah so we've definitely got some weird left-side neck stuff that's happening because there's another corresponding marker on the back as well like an indent and err marker just that that lack of lack of tissue so again holding and waiting so interesting about a circular motion just to get things activated and we're moving to Zone two oddly enough both sides lungs totally fine no weird congestion no crazy fluid stuff it definitely seems to be more lymphatic more muscular more around the joints okay so now we're on the back and I'm using again just a little bit of a circular hold on this point that's kind of right between her shoulder blades like lower traps on the on the left side hmm hands on three interesting so her stomach reflux is slightly contracted and hot so dietary wise she hasn't been eating as much and what she has been eating has been more inflammatory than it should be so that that type of stuff has been occurring okay so we we had this nice little pocket here that I'm holding like right and it feels like if you think of the stomach as a sac it feels like it's folded and and inflamed so what I'm doing is I'm literally pushing the fold out is the best way to said in the reflux yeah and her breathing is starting to change a little bit fabulous so good good signs of acceptance and this is the same methodology that you would use for the hands for the face up for the feet as well going through the routine the routine is just the vessel that's why the routine isn't important it's just important so that you touch every area so that you feel every area and then you address the points that you feel regardless of what extremity are working now I'm being asked to go deeper by the body so I'm increasing my pressure and still holding that same point condition she was eating yeah yeah it so the body is it it feels like a trigger point almost like it feels like a hard nodule so it'll be really interesting to see how and when this point chooses to release and what that effect will look like because I mean right now I'm creeping up into like a five to six out of ten in pressure which is not what I use on the ears at all yeah okay point released good good good good fabulous and I just want to just ass wage the the tissues a little bit that was some deeper work so I really want to just pull that pull all that out does it look like in there it didn't even get bread I was just thinking that it didn't get raising so now we're doing back three you know into Kaitlyn Conchas on four and again we have this blockage so we're gonna hold yeah so lower GI and upper GI on the left side have have ceased and we found the blockage on the liver on the other side so there's definitely been some some dietary triggers to this particular issue so again I'm going to use that kind of gliding and the body is again asking for more pressure so we're we're gonna very slowly increase the pressure so with with what you're feeling and what you're doing the routine is the routine is what you master first so it's like the the foundation of just getting you to do the work but then once you start to find these individual points and work with the body you're literally asking the body what would you like me to do here what what are you asking me to do here do you need me to move you around a little bit you need me to stay in one place and calm you down do you need me to use more pressure do you need me to use less pressure now what is it that you feel you need and having that communication because that's what being a body worker is her ear just broke out into a sweat fabulous all this good stuff you're talking about okay and we're out of there okay and switch to the back it's too low and my fingers are tired so I'm just gonna I'm gonna bring it it's a nice little point right here so I'll just want that which is good stuff this is also the reason why although I love my traditional Chinese medicine and that is definitely a method that works your seeds inappropriate from a reflexology standpoint because they provide consistent pressure as opposed to the pressure that is needed yeah so when you're when you're sticking inanimate object with a set amount of pressure on a point maybe that point needs alternating pressure maybe that point means less pressure maybe it needs more maybe overstimulating to certain to a certain degree so like working with a manual therapy like reflexology as opposed to you know it's just different theory but at the same time that's why like that's my thoughts on that but see that year Loeb got really read with that and I wasn't using nearly as much pressure just breaking up some stuff yeah and finish with a nice trace around the periphery nice friend so in terms of hot towels we would normally what we'll do is we'll finish up with the relaxation techniques we would do the hot towels before the last two points at the beginning we would do the hot towels after the first two points so we would do at the beginning solar plexus adrenal hot towels and then go into our relaxation techniques right side relaxation techniques left-side relaxation techniques and then we would do hot towels last two points what it's working it just and with that middle section you just need to be a little bit more careful because some people's ears aren't as flexible so if their cartilage is really bound again meaning that their spine is bound in that exact place you just don't want to push their ears past their limit which if you've never worked on ears before is will be weird the first time that you feel it but you'll feel like it won't move and it will actually be very uncomfortable for the client as well [Music] got some stomach gurgling the ears feel much lighter much easier to move much less congested she didn't confer told her she didn't which is another sign that it's not in the freaking lungs if it was the body would have taken it there and she would have been hacking non-stop mm-hmm but because it's not the body no the body is always correct which is why when a client comes in for the very first time and they start coughing up a storm and they're like why why was I doing that it's because you have something in there that the body was trying to get out it's in the lymphatic system so we're just finishing with our solar plexus adrenal and then we are all set the chai tea that she's doing if it's if it's a true chai tea where it's you know again cinnamon cardamom ginger black tea in there as well then some pepper black peppers often and my teas that is very very good for her so I would say at least three cups a day with major meals if not more to just continue to inject fluid but also to push fluid how good does that sound compared to the last one so good not as Fleming at all okay so now we are good thank you you're very welcome so take your time kind of getting yourself up and bringing yourself back but definitely like when you when you go vertical give us give us a good coffee as well just so that we can hear the dryness yeah thank you so that was ear demo and we'll throw this up on the YouTube channel as well so you guys can
