hello and welcome Adam Thomas from balancing touch reflexology so good to see you and thanks for joining me today I want to share with you an amazing resource for anybody who's interested in reflexology a beginner all the way to Advanced practitioners of reflexology this resource which is a website that is built by uh Chris Shirley he's been doing reflexology since 1978 so he's he's got a lot of information you probably have come across him before um but he spent uh the last bunch of years um creating you know this is sort of like uh during covid years he started to create and compile all of his builtup knowledge of collected Brilliance of reflexology resources and has put it onto a website for all of us to enjoy so today let's go and check out reflexology resources.com [Music] 1978 he started practicing reflexology and you know he learned it the year before that and that's basically when I was born I was born in 77 so this is quite amazing just a little side here uh my instructor was evat Eastman and Chris Shirley were doing reflexology they're pretty much the only uh reflexologists that were really popular around uh you know where I was and so it was kind of funny is like Chris is the father of reflexology and IET is like the mother of reflexology and we're all there reflexology children right so it's really um great that he's put this together and excited to share this with you if you want to please follow along if we just come over to the website here we just need to type in reflexology resources.com and this shows up so it should be yellow yellow and green those are the colors you come to the home page that will the one that shows up first and you'll know you're on the right page because you'll get three charts all the way across and you've probably seen these charts before they're very popular they've been around forever and then you get a little welcome here welcome to the reflexology resources your One-Stop place for finding everything related to reflexology and it's true saying here that his original concept was to create a resource manual the challenge with that is you need to keep updating it and printing it and getting it out so he decided to make to keep it current and easier to update would be to publish it online and so there we go that's why we have this website there's kind of two parts to this website one is the main homepage which gives you a bunch of resources and then there's the members area and you sign up for it currently it is free so you just have to go to the members area and you just sign in and sign up for a membership and then you get access to a whole bunch more stuff which I will show you later on um but I would just want to cover the first part here um I also want to point out here that this is there's is currently no charge for your membership however a donation um use the contact page to support the maintenance and development of this website uh will be graciously receive so I run a website I'm sure you do too it costs money if you're able to donate anything that is awesome and you just go to the contact page so your host if you want to learn more about Chris Shirley can get into and learn some stuff so find publish reflexology research studies and you can either click on the title or you can click on the learn more and so that's all of that uh that follows for each one of the sections here find publish books charts DVDs CDs videos Etc find uh professional practicing reflexologists all around the world so I get this question a lot uh saying hey I know you're not in my area can you recommend somebody well here is a good place to start because let's just here we'll we'll click on this and we get showing a whole bunch of information here uh alphabetical right so if we look okay where's a reflexology in Canada how do we find it so below directories of professional practicing reflexologist of different organization so there here's a whole bunch like National all across um Canada uh Reflexology Association of Canada and natural health practitioners Canada so when you go in there they'll it will be a link to their website and you can find somebody there if you're in British Columbia which is where I am you'll click on Reflexology Association of BC or you know you can go on the rack Reflexology Association of Canada BC chapter so that's how you would find that um for somebody that is coming to Canada or looking for somebody in Canada and you have all these different countries so that's what it looks like when you get inside uh one of these uh so that was the third big little bubble button here next one is reflexology related products uh the roots of reflexology so this is really great I find history really amazing but for some reason it doesn't stick in my head so it's good to have this resar so I can go back and um research it and here I'll just click on it because it's pretty amazing the way it's set up as well so it goes back a long time right and then it goes into different histories in different cultures and I think that's really important as well so Egyptian Indian Chinese Japanese North South Indian ancient history so this is very cool uh also date wise as well it's been put so this is really brilliant the way that it's been presented here so yeah you can check that out our library of reflexology videos so these are really great and this is sort of more like when you click on these These are more geared towards somebody who you know has a little bit of experience in reflexology or c ious about reflexology so they're sort of beginner um overview ideas about reflexology at least that's what I've seen through them so if you're uh a practitioner of reflexology that's where you'll want to sign up for a membership because then you'll get videos and and ideas and things way more in depth but um anyway there's a nice collection of uh reflexology videos here uh reflexology related articles uh helping yourself with reflexology uh mer reflexology associations worldwide so that's really great so down here practitioners students use the link to go to the memb area so let's just do that so you can get to it a bunch of different ways oh yeah and then what people are saying so these are actually big hitters in uh reflexology and they've checked this website out like I'm doing and they think it's amazing so it's it's really great so anyway you can read what they're saying now I want to go into the members sign up so I've already signed up so so it will take me there as soon as I click on on this but you can get it from the top here so now you can see at the top here it says reflexology resources membership sign in right so and then you'll be presented with this it's pretty easy so you just sign up so I've already signed up so now I'm going to go to the members area okay I've got too many tabs open I'll just close them up so that's what's great about this as well is when you click on a page it opens into a new tab at least uh from the browser I'm using and that's really convenient for me because I I you can get lost in this website really easily uh because there's so much information it's not because it's laid out terribly or anything but um I like that it opens up in a tab so that you can always come back to where you were if you you know come back to this so now if you look at the top bar it says reflexology re sources.com members area you get more information now I'll show you again at present the membership is free if you wish to make a donation like I've already said before so please please do okay so let's see here now you can actually check health conditions so over 200 uh health conditions let's just go into it let's just check it out so see how it opened up in a tab that's I like that actually because then you can go back here and now you know where you were um health conditions uh some great websites of resources for different conditions I know when I'm doing uh research a lot of these you know Mayo Clinic and stuff like that come up so they're all right there for you uh so alphabetical order that's really great let's see here and then we also have related uh resource books uh let's see let's just look under a and see what comes up so if I'm looking for let's see arthritis so I click on arthritis uh and you can just read about it so there you go description what it is causes of it symptoms and this is really really useful reflexes that have been known to help out there you go and some research on arthritis as well so you can spend days and days looking at all this stuff but it's so great because now we have that as a resource um I have a little thing where if I see something three times uh and I don't know what it is I start to research it and so this is going to be a great resource for me to find out uh some more information about something that keeps showing up three times right so it's a nice nice little rule that I have and that way it it um allows me to keep learning in my field so back on here health conditions online advanced reflexology courses and conferences so this is cool if you're wanting to learn more in your field of reflexology business and marketing so this is really great because we all need help with that especially if we're running our own reflexology business uh reflexology chat lines I haven't checked this out yet um taking care of yourself this is a good one we tend to look after everybody else but when it comes to looking after ourselves it's uh we don't we forget about ourselves that's one of the great things about being a reflexologist and one of the biggest challenges I find is uh having our own self-care uh anyway uh ethics guidance so that's really great uh abnormal conditions of the feat medical terminology and referral resources so it's just as a practicing flexologist if you come across some kind of ethic issues or um you need to refer somebody then this will give you some guidelines on how to go about doing that right uh and then we get some you know disclaimers down here and then we have all the stuff that we just covered in link form so that's what I usually do is I come down to here and I click on the members area if I don't know where I am so if I come back to the homepage and I kind of don't know where I am this is the only thing that where I get lost that I just want to point it out to you so home right I get all these great resources here membership sign up but I don't see how to get to the membership side so an easy way to do that is just scroll all the way down till you see here a members area or you can simply just go up to the top and type in members area right and then bookmark it then you always have it so that's at least that's how I've navigated but there's probably an easier way and I'm sure somebody will let me know but uh anyway so this is just a great resource for anybody who's interested in reflexology anybody who's practicing reflexology Chris thank you for creating this this is amazing and that's so much work thank you thank you thank you um on behalf of all reflexologist out there this is amazing
