hello and welcome adam thomas from balancing touch reflexology so good to see you and thanks for joining me today today we're going to look at the lymphatic system it's a great system center of our immunity um keeping us healthy and strong and getting rid of toxins and things like that in their body so it's a really great system to know some key points to work and i'm going to show you how i work those areas a major gland that works with the lymphatic system is the thymus gland the thymus gland is found straight across from where it's widest part of the ball of the foot or where that joint is on the big toe here okay over here you can see right there it's going to be found on the inside of where that knuckle is okay so the widest part there and the way to find that is to use so if i'm working on the right foot i'm going to use my right hand and what i'm doing here is searching for the opposite side of this so i'm looking for the widest the knuckle part right there and when you're actually searching for it it the reflex is found right on top of it so if this was if it was sort of reversed and we didn't have these toes in the way you could see what i'm doing here is i go right in like that and i'm going to be pulling like that and the reflex the thymus is found right on the widest part of that foot right on that knuckle okay and what i'm trying to do here is pull directly towards the other foot or directly medially okay one two three okay and you know you have it because this area tends to be sensitive and i can feel the foot kind of resisting or letting me know that i've definitely hit the spot right there it is if i come over to the other side i'm searching searching until i find just the right point and then i'm gonna hook across there it is one two three okay so take your time to find that point and the client will let you know right so on this side it feels like it's just above just a tiny bit above and pushing in on the knuckle okay right so it's right in there um something to help out your technique as well is use your non-working hand as a nice backboard to hold your hand against so if the foot's not there i'm gonna be pushing in like this and then out okay but i'm using this hand to to pull the foot towards me and create a nice comfortable feeling right so when we put it into practice here one two three [Music] good that is the thymus gland now we come over to the left foot only where we find the spleen so i don't forget the spleen i usually work it with the digestive system meaning i work the stomach i work the pancreas and then i come over here and work the spleen so if you haven't seen my video on the digestive system check that out because i go through a bit more detailed uh version of how i work the stomach and the pancreas and then once you have that you'll be able to find the spleen but just a really quick one here i'm going to be working just under the diaphragm line and i'm going to stop right underneath the fourth toe now the spleen and i'm just using this this is the top of the stomach but i'm just using this as a guide the spleen is found under in zone five a little bit above where my thumb is and a little bit below so in this little area here so it's not that big and the way that i work that is i just walk it up and then i can walk it back down again right or you can just work it like this you can push in and use pressure pointed pressure this way but as when i work the three together i'll just come up and do this so i usually work in one direction and it seems to be pretty good okay and so that's how you work the spleen so now getting into the actual lymph nodes there are some that are found around the head and the neck that is found between the toes okay so what we're going to be working i'm going to show you on the hand here first so that you can see um a bit of a bigger picture of what i'm going to be doing because it's a pinching action but when i say pinching um you know our intention to when we pinch something is to hurt something but we're not doing that what we're doing is we're going to be going just a little bit lower here in between the webbing so i'll show you on this side and so this would hurt where i'm just grabbing the top of the webbing here so you want to come down to a little bit lower so you're grabbing more of the meat right you can feel more flash area in there and that's how you do it so on this side it looks like this and on the back side it looks like this okay so again not up here get down low as you can right and then you move over move over move over so that's how you do it on the hand when you apply that to the feet again i like to use my hands to open up like that so it's easy for me to get in i'm going to go in with my index finger and my thumb i'm going to use my middle finger here to uh as support okay i'm going to actually put all my fingers together like that and that's going to be i don't have to squish as hard okay so again with this one be a little bit sensitive because you you can have a lot of power to push in so again make sure that you're not just pinching here move down a little bit further and it's a straight in pinch pinching action i should say one two three okay and then you move over to the next one one two three one two three one two three good so that's on the right foot and if i come over the left foot i'll just do that really quick one two three it doesn't matter which hand you use one two three one two three normally i would use my right hand to do this but i have a camera right beside me yeah i'll show you one two three now i'm blocking the light two three one two three you get the idea so that is the lymph in the head and neck and you'll notice that anytime somebody's a little bit sick or fighting something these areas will be very tender okay so they're good to work often i also like to do a little sweeping action so we can imagine that we've stimulated all this and we're going to actually move this stuff over to a little point under the big toe here so right when see the pad of the big toe here you're gonna feel a little dot underneath right in there okay so not on this side but on the inside and it looks like this so you're gonna walk along the stems of the toes and then you're just gonna push that stuff right in that little area right there there's an area in the body where the lymphatic system joins the circulatory system and so that's what we're doing is we're getting rid of all this waste and putting it into there so the body can better get you get rid of it right so over here it looks like that's walking along the top and pushing directly into there good so that's lymph in the head and neck okay so now we're going to do the axillary lymph which is the lymph in the armpit you're going to find it across from the widest part of the foot if you feel the pinky toe here you see that joint right there widest part of the foot okay a lot of people have like she has here a tiny little callus right it's related to where the pressure is touching the ground um related to shoulder as well so anytime you see callus there most likely it's related to shoulder kind of issues but we're dealing with the lymphatic system so we're going to find it right across from that widest part of the foot the knuckle there but again we're going to look on the inside here and we'll find we feel around until we feel that nice little bump on the inside so it's very similar to the thymus gland um but it's on this side and what we're gonna do is hook out one two three one two three okay and then over here so feel for it one two three one two three so that's the lymph that is found in the armpit area so i know we didn't get around to doing all of them today but we'll look at the rest of them the lower part of the lymphatic system in the next part so stay tuned for that so hope you enjoyed that hope that helped let me know hope you're doing well and um i will catch you in the next video thanks for watching bye bye oh yeah and remember to keep those feet happy yes until next time bye thanks so much for watching today if you like this video give it
