hello and welcome Adam Thomas from balancing touch reflexology so good to see you and thanks for joining me today today I want to add on to a previous video which is all about the nervous system how to work the entire nervous system on the feet and I wanted to share with you two different techniques that are really a great benefit to um enhance your reflexology with focus on benefiting the nervous system so I'm excited to share two techniques with you today one is going to be more of a breathing technique with a bunch of um you know solar solar plexus sort of um kidney one points and breathing and the next one is going to be more of holding and more of an energetic sort of chilling out and de-stressing the nervous system so we're going to look at this one called solar plexus breathing and we're going to put our thumbs right on the solar plexus area and what we're going to be doing is breathing in three times and then we're going to finish so the first part of it is we push up and we hold for about 30 seconds and while we're doing this we want to pay attention to how the client is breathing and so we see their in breath and their out breath okay as we're holding these points points and then when we feel it's good and we have the Rhythm down we're going to follow their in breath so take a good breath in and then hold and then let it go and then I like to guide the clients now so take a good breath in and then you hold it for as long as it feels comfortable and then you just kind of watch their breathing and then when they start to breathe out okay and then let it go okay and then we're going to take one more breath in and then hold for as long as it feels [Music] comfortable and then let it go and then we're going to do this raking from the diaphragm from the solar plexus Point basically down around the outside of the foot there so you kind of just scoop around and I'm using a good pressure here it's not a feather touch it's it's a nice comfortable kind of massaging technique right and then that's all you do and then I like to finish with a couple little desserts right quick recap you're going to hold the solar plexus point for about 20 to 30 seconds and then you're going to do three breaths breathing in and then letting go so you can either do this by guiding the entire thing or you can just watch the client's breathing and follow that way so there you go so next one we're going to do is we're going to match up our fingers with the toes so as you can see here here's the first hold we're we have our third fingers matching up with our third toes and then we just place our thumbs on that part and we basically just hold until we feel it's ready to move to the next one okay so we just sit there and hold and we try and fit as much of our finger as possible and then when it's ready to move we're going to move to our fourth fingers and fourth toes okay and the thumb follows along and we just hold until we feel that fourth zone is balanced or whatever or we feel it's just time to move you will know when you're in the zone and then we're going to move to our fifth so pinkies pinky fingers pinky toe another thing to be pay attention to here is you want to separate all the energy so if you notice I'm trying not to touch my fingers together right so I'm not supporting the fourth finger with the fifth finger right it's separate you can see it on my right side there then we're going to come back to the second toe now and point your fingers right and then we just hold there and again just feeling what the Zone number two feels like and when we feel it's balanced we're going to move on to the next one and the next one's a little bit different so when we move to the big toe it's going to be our first and second finger along with our thumb okay and again we're going to really try and make sure that our fourth and fifth fingers are staying separate from the first and second fingers right so then we're going to hold here until we feel Zone one and when you're doing this on all the fingers you want to make sure that you have as much of the finger on there as possible and you want to have a nice comfortable kind of loving touch then what I like to do is I slide down my left and hold the solar plexus point the right hand is going to float over top of the big toe and I'm just going to call it like a tripod so I'm using the same fingers that I was just using my index and my so my finger one and two and the thumb and you just hold over top of here and sometimes you'll feel a little kind of like wind or something blowing between your um fingers so you basically just stay there until you don't feel that anymore and then you're kind of done and then I just like to do a couple you know nice little rubbing finishing touches here and they're a lot lighter they're not quite they're not deep at all right just to kind of relax the whole foot and make sure all the circulation and everything's just flowing really nice and I also like to completely finish by doing this kind of three position hold so I'll he hold at the heel I'll move to the middle and then I'll just finish on the toes and that's just an added little thing that I like to add so there you go so having both of these techniques in your toolkit of reflexology is just really important at least I find um you can use both of these um I find the best sort of at the end of a session and I usually choose one or the other um but yeah feel free to use both of them during a session um if there's a client that's really kind of like strung out and you know they're just really um not relaxing when they get into your um chair or table or whatever like that um it's really great to do that uh solar plexus breathing because that's sort of like you can work together with the client it's a little more interactive and then it really does bring down um the person's uh you know stress level right and balances out the parasympathetic system quicker and gets you more into that uh deep state of relaxation right which is awesome our goal for that um the other one I find it a little bit more when the client is really sort of at the end of the session when they're almost sometimes even asleep I will do this technique and it's really a great one um so yeah you can pick and choose do them both um don't do them at all you know it's up to you um but I find these two uh really essential to my reflexology so I hope that helps um uh it takes a little bit to get used to some of these techniques and feel comfortable doing so yeah if you can practice them with uh somebody that would be really great and just pay attention to how the um client responds right so anyway there you go uh thanks for watching today and I will see you in
