hello Aisha how are you I'm good so nice to see you yes how are you and how's your family everything fine I hope you too you're wonderful yes we're okay coping with the situation of covet 19. of course everybody in the world in this moment absolutely this is nice we can connect I am here from The International Institute in Barcelona welcoming you from yes and what I would like to do yes I would like to talk to you today about your son Omer the experience and that you had as parents you and your husband and Omer and your other son of course and me we together we did a very fantastic work with Omer during now many years but I would like you to tell a little bit how it was from the beginning with Omer yeah okay uh my son Ahmad was diagnosed with with the Encephalitis at the age of one year old and since then we started our you know search Journey trying to look for you know the best uh the best hospitals and the best clinics in neurology in order to help him to uh you know overcome his the the seizures that he was frequently suffering from um of course Encephalitis was the main the primary diagnose but um it's caused him the consequence of encephalitis was you know seizures and they weren't controlled with medications with anti-epileptic medications and we started in you know once we get to know that he was actually suffering from this illness we tried to fetch for you know neurologists and unfortunately we didn't have much support here uh in Oman you know we are just lagging uh behind in terms of medical and rehabilitative services so I started of course looking in the internet um you know I went to Dubai and then I went to Thailand and then I went to UK and then I went to I visited many uh European countries seeking for rehabilitation services for my from my son because I knew it wasn't just the problem with the seizures I mean um I know that they were not controlled but at the same time my son at that early age he was he needed Rehabilitation you know uh this as soon as possible so um yeah he was leaking in in quite a many motor function skills speech movement exactly yes absolutely so as you recall and as you said um actually uh number suffers from many issues it was this isn't only the problem with the seizures and controlling them but it was he had problems with speech he wasn't able to to talk he wasn't able to walk uh and even he lost his muscle tones yes like I mean when you touch him and if you remember in Barcelona at that time when he came he was like a doe yeah his muscles were not strong he wasn't able even to hold a pencil or a cup um also uh also because he was on seven anti-epileptic medications because you know it's it it was like you know a trial and error with my son because doctors had to um to keep you know uh trying on antibiotic medication to find which one worked for him and for his for his brain at that time so it was really really difficult he was in a very difficult situation yeah yeah absolutely and of course in terms of intellectual uh development he also suffered he was lagging behind and it could and I could feel it because rumor is my second son and I could see and I am in the education the education field so I could tell that my son is not uh like you know he's not covering the proper Milestones as his peers so I knew that there was something wrong uh but of course I mean I don't know how to help my son because at the end of the day I'm a mother I'm not a specialist uh also he had as one of the consequences of the anti-epileptic medication he was very skinny and he was a very picky eater and um the the other thing that he wasn't sleeping he didn't sleep at night so it was really difficult for me as a as a working mother is you know to stay awake the whole night because he wasn't actually sleeping well and at the same time he didn't have you know he couldn't understand the word that surrounds him he had problems with the perception he couldn't differentiate between for example food or insects he would just children or babies tend to experiment the word by touching things sometimes actually at the time when we came to you he was he was supposed to cover this you know phase but unfortunately he wasn't he wasn't aware of the word he wasn't he could recognize me and his father his family his close relatives who's used to but again he wasn't able you know to recognize the other the other people so he has so many medical issues and intellectual issues um that I had to look after in every single aspect of his life and that's why we traveled a lot seeking for you know medical and rehabilitative services till we found you until we met and you know uh in in Dubai in a conference and um as actually actually I went to Dubai and I wasn't convinced that this is the thing that I want to do but I mean after meeting you and listening to your lecture and attending a workshop I felt oh God if this is my last destination my last stop then be it so be it and this is why you know I started communicating uh with you and you know requesting to meet you uh in Barcelona and alhamdulillah I'm glad it was the biggest decision in my life and it's I don't regret it because it was really miraculous what happened to my son it was the turning point in my life and in my son's life yeah but because actually it was like this that you didn't really in this years it was about five years you have been searching around in different countries as you told yourself you didn't found anything who was very effective for um so a lot of changes in this yes uh four years or four and a half year before we again with Japan yeah yeah absolutely yes I mean I mean this is uh exactly this is um what happened is that you know what we used to travel a lot and of course we used to pay a lot and uh unfortunately none of those rehabilitative services that my son was exposed to were really effective in the sense that they were permanent no and that was really really frustrating you know what I mean as a mother you just travel and you spend you know like you know two months or more and you know you pay so much and it takes so much effort as well and you know I had a lot of hope that you know these things will work for my son but unfortunately I could see all I could see the Improvement like you know in a very short term as long as I'm there once I'm back to my country like you know Emma will just go down yes we'll go down he will just go back to zero and he was really really frustrating really interesting you you could see how much uh uh it was it's not it's not just about being frustrated as a mother but it was really painful it's painful because you could see like you know you had that hope and then suddenly uh as if you are you know um like you know you see the light in the tunnel and then somebody you know suddenly turns off you know the light in in the middle when you are in the middle of the way you know I understand this well in well also because I tried this myself absolutely absolutely and this is why I believed in you more than any other therapist in the whole world I believed in you because it came from an experience of a mother okay not just a therapist but also as a mother so you understand you know what we go through as parents yes the worst yeah moment in my own life it was to have a son with a constantly epileptic attack absolutely yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah and also the thing is that there is a lot of similarities of almost condition and Christians your sons um you know uh condition and that's why I said okay now this is it it must be like this is the the situation this is I mean this is the condition and this is the place where I want to go next and after this I'm not gonna go anywhere and I kept praying to Allah that you know please help me guide me so I can find the right medicine and alhamdulillah God has you know rewarded Me by you know getting to know you and you know not just as a therapist but again as a person yeah yes so what what happened you came here to Barcelona yeah it is now how many years ago and you did the parents course yes and after that you went home to Muscat and you began yeah um stimulating on air with this day if you have learned here and I remember still that very fast you saw some chains and suddenly they were calling from his uh their case I think he were in a kindergarten in this moment yes and yeah you were always shaking when they called from school but suddenly they call you to tell you positive things I remember that absolutely um you know Luna when we came to Barcelona omad had all these issues listed I mean the one I just mentioned yes and then we had we took the the training the family course of course and we're finished and we were in Barcelona at that time I mean the first remarkable uh like you know the first observation okay is that when we shifted from Barcelona because you know it was um my husband decided to go and explore you know uh you know Spain since we were there as a family so and it was you know it was very tiring experience and you know he said okay it's time to go for sightseeing so the day we left from Barcelona and we arrived at Madrid I noticed that Omar slept the whole night that was my first observation even my uh his umar's Nanny was with us if you remember yes okay and we were all shocked because usually we take turns you know because you know he he didn't sleep uh so and of course we need to sleep so we we used to take turns so we we all slept the three of us we all slept and then when we woke up she asked me yeah she asked me Madame did you wake up during the night foreign I said no I said did you hear him uh you know in the middle of the night crying or something she said no and that was the first impression is that oh my gosh Amar slept and then then I was still skeptical I said okay there's no way that it can work that fast you know [Music] um yes and then on the following day the same thing happened the third day the same thing happened we spent a week and he was sleeping at night and then because the first day I thought okay maybe he's too tired you know of traveling and that's why but then we noticed that he's sleeping and even during the whole flight he was sleeping like I mean he wasn't as annoying as before so sleeping was the first um observation and then when we came to Oman um I continued of course with the therapy and I was taking turn with my with the nanny um the second thing we noticed is that he started to eat he's not like you know refusing to eat you know certain types of food he was just eating whatever we served him and again we were so much impressed and then after a week and this was really it made me cry alone yes I really cried you know one day I was coming from from work at SKU at Sultan's University I was you know as you know I was a lecturer there my sister I used to put him and my sister with his nanny in my sister's house and then my sister surprised me okay she uh when I came she let Omar open the door for me so the moment I rang the bell I opened the door the maid was there behind the door and when I looked I saw Omar standing standing and walking towards me and I couldn't really I ah I just couldn't believe it I just couldn't believe it that he was working no yeah so a big moment yes exactly exactly this moment I can never now I feel like my whole yeah body shivering but it was really emotional it's really yeah I cracked I never you know I never cried when Amar got sick and he went even when he was in his worst condition in the Intensive Care units I never cried but only I was holding you know my emotions and only that day I couldn't I couldn't hold it anymore it was the time when it was for me to cry and just let her go out of my system and of course it didn't stand there I mean it didn't stop there I mean there there were always more I mean as you said the incident that happened he was going to um a British kindergarten and suddenly they called me and I thought he must be suffering from his epileptic attack although there was a nurse and they know the doses and I was really shaking holding the phone shaking and then she said we would like to meet you now and is everything okay is ramad okay she said yes is everything okay but the principal wants to meet you and then I don't know how I went there but I was really literally I was shaking um and then she told me we're just so curious we want to know what you did with them I said what do you mean she said we noticed that he is now more cooperative we noticed that his perception his understanding he he was able to comprehend you know things we do for children and we said and she said he he used like you know to hold he wasn't able to hold the pen and you know uh even when we try he couldn't actually he only with the help of a shadow teacher he was able to hold the pen and whatever he puts there on papers was like scribbles and then uh and then I said now he's now he's capable he's at least now can draw lines can draw circles and even I remember um I kept that that you know those papers for quite some time like you know more than I think five years but then you know I just got rid of them because you know I had piles of files of different memories and I thought okay it's time to just you know get rid of those things now my sense is has improved The Loft and of course started talking I mean you see the thing is with the temprana it's you never go back to zero no it's it's perfectly Disturbed if you do not do what you should do but it never go back to zero it never goes back to and this is this is this is what makes it miraculous uh therapy my son has actually started progressing though slowly but at least he's progressing he's progressing purposes so much yes he probably yes he's progressing but I mean I mean you know as a parent we are always greedy but I mean it's he is progressing a lot and each time I can see uh I can see the difference and sometimes he really surprises me with you know with with the way he talks and even with the sentences and I felt that he suddenly started from producing like one single word into full compound sentences complex sentences yes absolutely and he has developed a lot of social skills as well yes okay now I can see of course there are still some drawbacks but I mean it's it it could never ever cross my mind that this is the way the temporary could change my son's life it changed his life it changed my life and now myself he's bilingual he speaks both languages English and Arabic for this period we are talking about now yeah it is about five to six years old and today how old is your man he's 18 years she's a teenager yes and he and she told just now that he's speaking fluency two languages yes English and yes and Arabic and also he really have developed and we have to tell he also became Like A Champion in Bowling no yes yes special Olympic champion in Bowling yes he participated in the special Olympic in Abu Dhabi two years ago yes and he won the uh silver medal five sorry five silver medals things that they have difficult to imagine when we begin working with that child also mad no that it will happens that I nearly said ince in this way it doesn't end yet of course not but that we can go to this point that we can come to this point where he can have Santa a big difference in his life no yeah absolutely absolutely and then I also think we should tell that the from this moment where we began working with Omer that since this moment we have been working together very close and you have trained more than thousands parents yes yeah more than thousand I think we lose lose the number now Asia yeah I lost counting honestly because also when we came here how can I also lose the counting and think about it every parents it's three days course and more than a thousand parents we have done in a period of course I think it's about 10 years now no so many many children and many family have had a huge benefit of reflex therapy in Oman yes absolutely huge results huge results incredible incredible results I mean if if I haven't witnessed it myself I wouldn't believe it but I mean it's a huge result yes yes absolutely side by side with you and me and the many from my team and yeah mostly Robert from Poland and uh of course also card of India from Spain yeah yeah you know the thing is the thing is you know for me I thought I mean as as a parent it's a shame if we don't spread this you know signs it would be a shame because if my son Ahmad benefited who's a who's you know a child with you know uh Encephalitis and you know considered as a disabled child then we can change the lives of thousands millions of people so I thought I mean I don't want I don't want to keep this to myself I wanted you know I wanted to spread it in my own country and I want people and parents to get to know about it because you know yes yes and we did yes of course yeah you know we stopped I established the y10 center in Oman and that was you know the starting point for us to spread the whole the distance to the whole country not only in Oman Dubai yes yeah yeah but it is such a good story about Omari that is really a sexy history but they I would also like to mention that um you have been very what can we say is stable in insisting also in doing temprana Reflex therapy home training with your son no this is also one of the thing we need to to say that it's not to do with the stimulation now and then you have really had to commit it with this therapy to get this kind of results no yeah I mean you need to do it if you don't follow the instructions of how to do it how often to do it and all these kind of things of course we will not obtain these same results as we know here no but this was something and it was nice to to hear it again for me again many times and I have of course uh I have all details about Omer but what I wanted it is to share this experience with the rest of the world we will keep on working together with parents online yeah oh okay okay it's okay sure sure of course we will now stop working together if it is possible to keep on in Oman depending on the condition the crisis uh um were giving us but if not we you don't give up we keep on online no during this therapy with the parents all over the world also in Oman
