(text whooshes) - It's always great to learn about the different methods available to improve our overall wellness. And our next focus has a long history with many health benefits. So let's find out about reflexology. (text whooshes) Joining us today is Giselle Wasfie from Remix Acupuncture and Integrative Health. And she's here to teach us all about reflexology. Also known as zone therapy. Now, Giselle, we know the body is all connected and it's fascinating how reflexology works. So first, explain to us what it is. - Reflexology really is these micro-systems that you find along the body, that really treat the whole body and mimic different areas of the body. You could stimulate individual points with a tool, with an acupuncture needle, with your hands, with your finger. And those will actually create a connection to that particular area on the body. A way to treat the whole body through those little points. And it's truly therapeutic. - When you're talking about reflexology and all of these points, is it the bottom of the foot? Is that the hand? - The bottom of the foot is one of the probably most well-known. then you can look at the whole face for reflexology. So for example, here would be the digestive points. We have headache points. You can get an overall sense of balance from using reflexology, as well as targeting specific issues that you may want to address. - Take us through a typical session. What can somebody expect? - We go into the treatment room, identify what it is that you wanna work on. Look at your face. I'm looking at your skin. I'm looking at areas of redness. I'm looking at if you have acne on your chin, discuss that. Then you lay on the table, we'll do the point stimulation there, making small circles at these different areas. We are layering products on before we start the reflexology. You want to have a slick surface on your face when you're using your tool. So you're not endangering the skin or pulling at it. And then that is really about unplugging, unclogging channels so that the body can move freely. I definitely recommend it for anybody who wants to live a healthier life, feel more balance. It's really an abundance of benefits from doing it.
