[Music] As a therapist, you may be asked to do taster sessions. These are often used to market reflexology and yourself. The aim in doing tasters is to get potential clients interested in reflexology and for the clients to try reflexology without paying for a full treatment. You are turning something intangible to something tangible. And the best way to do this is by actually meeting someone, explaining what you do, and the icing on the cake, letting them experience it. Because taster sessions are usually carried out in spaces that allow for little privacy, you are unlikely to get a full medical history, so you must be aware of not taking your treatment too far. It is tempting to try and prove reflexology works by making a difference to someone's problem. But actually all you are doing is introducing them to reflexology and to your touch. This is your marketplace for selling your wares and you are selling you. You have to be professional, empathic, knowledgeable, and inspiring, and come across as oozing confidence all in the 15 minutes provided by the taster. Not easy, but it does come with practice. However, remember you should not be treating, but relaxing. So, use the relaxation moves from the beginning and the end of your treatments. You will have no information about what is going on in their organs. So do not attempt to treat the specific reflex points. You should get a signed consent form to treatment even if you are only going to do 10 minutes. We sell disclaimer forms for tasters at www.a.org.uk. These forms also allow you to collect all the important contact details from your taster clients so that you can market special offers to them in the future. Reflexology and hand reflexology should not be used as an alternative to medical advice. [Music]
