[Music] reflexology is an ancient art originating from Chinese and Eastern traditions. It is a non-intrusive complimentary health therapy based on the theory that different points of the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body. Reflexologists work holistically with their clients and aim to work alongside standard medical health care to promote better health for their clients. The theory of foot reflexology is that there are three distinct zones defined by the bone structure under the foot indicating the shoulder line and the pelvic line. There are also 10 vertical lines which further divide the foot and these lines define where the reflexology points are located. These same bone structures are available on the hand and so the same points can be transferred to the hand. By working the reflexology points, the therapist aims to relax and rebalance the areas of the body to which these points relate. This leads to increased relaxation and well-being of the person. The treatment will start by the therapist taking a medical history. Then you will be asked to remove your shoes and socks. You will be made comfortable and the treatment will start with gentle relaxing movements all over the feet. Certain points will be treated that may be a little uncomfortable and these will depend on the imbalances present. Overall, the treatment should be relaxing.
