hello and welcome adam thomas from balancing touch reflexology so good to see you and thanks for joining me again today um we are going to look at part two of the lymphatic system we already did the first part uh last time um which was the upper part of the foot and now we're going to work on the bottom part today so let's go take a look at the bottom part of the lymphatic system now we're going to move down to the inguinal lymph that is going to be found all around the top of the foot here okay and we start on this side of where the ankle bends so if you hold your finger across like this and just lift up that's where you want to start on this side of my finger what we're going to be doing is doing lines straight down like this and we're going to start on top of the ankle bone [Music] and over on this side we're going to start on top of the ankle bone here and we're just going to walk straight up and tell our feet tell our fingers run out of gas like for me i have a big span here so they're just they're going to go up a little bit further than some people and that's fine it's not really about how far it pushes up the whole idea is that you stimulate right around where the ankle bends okay so one side goes like up like this and then the other side follows and then you're going to move that line in walk up in walk up and walk up and walk up and walk up and walk up and walk up now if somebody's holding their foot kind of straight it's going to be uncomfortable here when you walk it's going to be quite hard so it's really great if you can and so it takes a little bit of coordination to be lifting the foot to a certain angle where it feels nice and kind of mushy and the muscles have let go and the tendons have relaxed a little bit right when it's like this it's harder when it's pulled up too high high um you're just getting skin but you want to have it where you're just slightly pushing forward and then when you walk up in your lines it's way easier to work right and this area needs to be worked really well so a good one to do is to use your index fingers first run then you add in your index and your middle finger and do the same process and then add in the third finger and work so again if your foot is too far like this it's too hard to work if it's up a little bit it's perfect and then if it's too far back there's not much to work with it's kind of just feels like skin so you want to be sort of that sweet spot in between one finger two fingers three fingers that way you get it you do the area three times three different ways and there you go that's that there and i'll show you on this side we're going to be working in just the ankle here so when you hold your finger you're going to be walking up lines starting on this side of the finger up okay so here one finger walks up and then the other finger locks up one finger walks up one finger locks up okay and then we add in two and three i also like to just give a nice little stimulation with all my fingertips in circular motions just to kind of finish it off there we go now the last one tends to be a bit more of a i think an advanced technique but it works really well it's called the drain plug and what that is for is how we swept the stuff over to here so it's ready to be drained now to go into the system and flush itself out so we start on the inside so right foot right arm starting the inside of the knee and we're going to slide up between the first and second zone and i'm going to wrap my index finger right around and i feel for that nice little nodule that we felt before and i'm just going to pull up and then i'm going to replace with my thumb and pull up okay and these points can be quite sensitive [Music] this will this one is really a good one to know well and also be taught in person because it's quite difficult to see it's more of a feel thing but i just wanted to share that with you today let's do it over here so on the inside of the knee slide up grab under there pretend like we're almost popping off an old um [Music] like pop bottle cap right and then we replace with the thumb and we pull straight up and these this is really sensitive in here okay so one two so the way to really do this is you ask your client to take a good breath in they take a good breath in and then when they let it out you come and go bang bang so this is a really good one because when they're breathing out they're not going to feel pain as much as they would when they're holding their breath right for example so this is a really good one to get very familiar with so you can just you know get the point and go but when you're first learning it it's hard to you know find make sure you find the right spot and by the time you do that the client's already breathed out and they're and they're ready for you and holding their breath so it feels a little bit more uncomfortable so this is one to just really grit um good at on yourself right you can practice feel on the inside here on yourself where it is that feels really sensitive and then you'll get used to it so there you go so that is pretty much all the main points in the lymphatic system great so now you should have all the points that are related to the lymphatic system so not only the points that i showed you in this video and the one before those ones are a bit more focused on the lymphatic system but also just a general work on the foot is going to help the lymphatic system as well because it works really closely with the circulatory system so the major difference with the lymphatic system is that there's no pump like the circulatory system has the heart that pumps the blood through the body and that's how it moves right so it works alongside of the the system but it still doesn't have the pump of the heart to push the system through but how it does um get pushed through your body is through kind of like a valve system so if you can imagine the tube that the lymphatic fluid goes through um has little tiny like almost little dams right that get pushed and open and close and push right so as you move your body as the muscles contract and relax it's giving like that's the pump right so if a person doesn't do a lot of exercise sits around and that sort of thing the lymphatic system can you know it does it's not able to do its job properly because it's not circulating and getting those toxins out of your body the way that it's supposed to right so that's why it's really great to move any type of walking any type of you know exercise movement where you're moving your muscles moving your whole body is going to be really great for the lymphatic system right so because then you're actually pushing the the fluid along and so it can do its job right so there you go anyway lymphatic system it's a really great one so if you haven't seen the first part go check that out we work on the top of the foot and today we worked on the bottom of the foot so hope that helps um yeah until next time adam thomas from balancing touch and remember to keep those feet happy because when the feet are happy you're happy anyway take it easy bye-bye thanks so much for watching today if you
