[music] [music] Hello everybody and welcome to another episode of Wednesday's reflexology and I am so so pleased to have with us Elise Manzone. [cheering] Uh Elise is the president of the uh French Federation of Reflexologists. So I am absolutely so delighted. [laughter] >> No, thank you. >> But we're going to be carrying on with our theme of reflexology works. And um I sort of put a a message out to my colleagues in Europe because I wanted this to be international. And um Elise immediately wrote back and she was going, "I've got one. I've got one." And so Elise, take it away. What are you going to tell us about and what happened with your clients? >> Uh today I would like to share with you something um that we meet sometime. It's um um what's a weird word in English? I have to read my note. Tiniches. I want to share with you difficulty um of this part in this trouble. >> Yes. And tenitus is such a difficult condition to treat. So this is going to be so so exciting. >> Yes. There is um a lot of tenitis. Um maybe there is um almost one person with tinitus and over one person with tenitus differently. So there is a lot of probability to uh to fill and to have uh some issue. It's not the same. So it's just an example. Yes. >> But evidently not for all people. >> Okay. >> Um like that. Okay. In this case um it's a man. He's um oh with the numbers in English 85 8 and five years >> sank. >> Yeah Kravan sank >> Kravan sank. So yes 85 >> 85 sorry my dear colleagues know that I'm very very bad with numbers to shame. >> You're amazing. [laughter] >> 85 years old Mr. death who came to see me for very sever sever sever teenagers. >> He had been experiencing um uh [snorts] from years um and since two years the symptoms was very very uh biggest uh and worse. So uh when he arrived at my practice, he was completely completely exhausted. >> Oh, >> the tit tenitis was constant and he could hard this sleep anymore and he haven't told me that time he has suicide through because the suffering has become uh so so um >> intolerable perhaps. >> Yes. Yes, it is. So the first thing I did was to refer him to a general practitioner doctor because he have a big bigger uh emotional difficulty with that >> and his doctor prescribed prescribed a mil anxolic that he could take if necessary >> not every day but if you think it's necessary you can take this. Um before coming to see Mr. F had already tried um osteopathy, succology and hypnosis >> but none of them uh a good um result nothing uh it's nothing happens. Um during the reflexologist um during the reflexology uh two other issue also appears low back pain and chronic constipation. So I decided >> yes [laughter] >> [snorts] >> uh we we have um for with this age there is a lot of difficulty but the one to the >> third [laughter] the third difficulty major was them >> so tinus is often difficult for medicine to treat >> and I it can't present very differently from one person to another. >> Um what makes it particular particularly interesting for us to work because uh we can do something for something but it's not the same result. So I think it's very interesting to >> um just to remember the this tinitus can be um well can have some difficulty well a lot of systems auditorium system somato sensory system and neurologic and emotional system. So >> it's a big thing to to work on it. Um he explain the ringing the ringing he say the ringing has discreased a lot but I feel extremely tired. >> Okay. >> Always. >> Okay. >> So uh we try to do things something uh but just um um my first objective was not to work directly on these tinures but rate to help calm this nervous system. >> Mhm. The first session was um one hour plant reflexology session >> very global and focus on relaxation >> right >> I work on daff >> how do you say >> yes [laughter] the pronunciation reflex zone the solar plexus the nervous system uh the spine the sensory organs and of course the reflex zone relate to the the hairs of course but very um um light >> okay light pressure ah okay >> yes very because uh hold man >> and uh very very u impact emotional impact so I want you to do um uh I don't I have missing to say something about this and he explained to me that he he never stopped. He worked all his life. Um he don't never relax. >> Um always busy, always um and he work on association. So never stopped. Sounds like me. [laughter] [laughter] [gasps] >> So um this s um this reflexology reflexology session was for him first time he tried to relax really. >> So it was not easy for him to do that. Um um the second session took place three weeks later. >> Uh in the meeting meeting time he had seen his doctor who had prescribed a mil anxic to take if necessary. So uh he have take two times. Um and during this session I work more spec how to say that in English. Yes, darling. That's what you said. [laughter] >> Yes. Our It's not easy to say in English. Um on the reflex zone of sensory organs, the cervical area and the cranial of the and the cranial cranial nerves. >> Lovely. Say those three again, please. Just because I know everybody's going to be writing this down now as to what you [laughter] did. Say, say this again. These three ones again. >> Don't this second session. Yes. Um I worked on the reflex of the sensory organs. >> Yes. >> Cervical area and cranial nervous. >> Perfect. >> Um three days later he called me again and the ten tinus has completely disappeared. >> WHOA. >> So he said to me that emotional it's great. He can sleep and he can speak with some people because uh it was so um so big. So he go um alone and he don't meet anybody so he can do um better um to take the life normally life. >> Yes. >> Okay. Um and at um the third session 15 days later um the ringing and the winging are totally disappear. The breathing there is two difference in tinus. We have the ringing and buzzing. I don't know if it's a good word but >> yeah buzzing is a great word. Okay. >> Um but the buzzing occasally um came back but very lightly >> right. >> So when we continue the session every three weeks for four months the tenetist did not return. >> Yeah. Um the one day he called me urgently say can you take some can you do something the tenitus I are very very important today can you do something and um and he couldn't know understand why but we have some he has not no idea why um as we talk and eventually told me um it was it was very sad because because his two words are die within a short time of each other. two two two things >> so he lives >> I I couldn't hear what you said two two things happened two two pe >> uh because it's two two horses I died yes >> oh >> and it just when we talk but he have no um notion that the stress and the sadness can be um >> connected >> connected with the tinist >> okay So we we speak about and if okay now I can see when I'm so um bad or or I'm tired or I'm very sad maybe there's there something happens >> around. >> So after the session the tenures grad gradually dis discreed again and disappeared uh with uh within three days >> again almost immediately. You're you're amazing. [laughter] >> When we when we reg something about emotional uh things we can because for him uh the the the the problem of the tinitus is connecting willing connecting with emotion. >> Okay. >> But some people not but >> for his men. Yes. >> Um and today we simply continue maintenance session every six weeks. Mhm. >> Um uh since the third session, I have also add oricular okay oricular flexology. >> Yes. >> Uh and at the beginning of the treatment uh to help promote mental relaxation and calm the nervous system. I think it's uh very quickly results with oricular reflexology to have this calm. >> Yes. And do you just use pressure or do you use ear seeds as well? >> No, no, just pressure. Just pressure >> with the tech technique from Stephanie Sanbushian. >> Oh yes. >> Brief loc. So >> method. Oh yes. Yes. Fabulous. >> A lot of um sensation with two or three points to calm nervous system impression. Um sometimes the reflexologist is not treating a symptom. We are helping the body remember how to return to balance. Yes. >> So >> uh it's helped to support the body. So I can't I it can't regalance itself. In this case it seem it seemed to be the right support at the right moment for this person. >> You're amazing. That's my experience for this difficulty. >> I tell you what, this is such a good story of a fantastic outcome. And what I'm so so pleased to see is that actually you were saying yes, it's the emotions. And we know that when somebody is distressed, if somebody is upset about something, it does seem to have an impact. this kind of knock-on effect and we'll sort of and and in ways that we don't expect and then and then you were saying and it's just this reflex that reflex the other reflex you the cranial ones the the the uricular all the rest of it and it's a case of so simple so simple you're amazing this is exactly the sort of story that I was hoping to hear Elise thank you so much for joining us >> um pleasure been delight to chat with you.
