hello everybody so we are here with another foot reading video for everyone and this is going to be a really fun one because we've got some really awesome pictures for those of you that follow me on Instagram and Facebook as well you get a little bit of a sneak preview yesterday with my post so let's get into it and as a reminder this is live so if you want to tune in then definitely make sure to let me know that you are tuning in and did you do we will chat in the chat and for those of you that are not tuning in live then make sure that you drop comments so that I can reply to them and we can chat back and forth because I love talking with all of you and they love responding to all of your comments so this is the foot reading video for April 6 2018 hopefully there will be people watching this hundreds of years from now but until then let's chat about these feet so these are the feets that we are going to be talking about there is a bottom shot but one of the things that I really want to drive home is the difference between top and bottom and I'll talk about that in the video as well what we see on the dorsal surface or the top of the feet gives us a very specific set of meanings but then what we see on the bottom surface or the plantar surface of the feet also gives us a very different perspective of the same markers and that definitely plays into what we give to the client in terms of reading information so for those of you tuning in I see a lot of people jumping on the video make sure to tell me that you are watching and where you're watching from and we will totally chat in the chat but for now let's talk about the Facebook group so the Facebook group is where all of this information really takes place we have a group on Facebook that I will post these pictures in as a foot reading challenge for all of my enthusiasts both reflexology practitioners and professional foot readers laypeople who are just interested in the art and science and then they put up their comments and their readings and then I do this video in response to them to see whether or not they were on the mark so we're gonna talk about what I see what I would say and what I would not say which we've talked about this in other videos as well sometimes what you don't say is just as important as what you do say because you want to make sure that the feet are the star and that the body is conveying a message to you in an accurate way but also that you are relying that information in a way that doesn't shock jar or compromise scope of practice as well and then what to do about it because it's one thing for us to read the feet and it's another thing for us to actually tell the client hey here are some suggestions that you might want to work on or refer out to specific practitioners that are more qualified to handle the markers that you are personally seeing within the feet okay so let's reaffirm some of the basics in this video we're going to talk about top versus bottom but we're also gonna talk about limes and lines are really important in foot reading because they tell us where the body has started to break down where it's dehydrated where it's over circulated where it's overstressed and lines give us an idea of where we need to focus our nourishment and our moisture in terms of daily lifestyle but then also when in doubt ask them and this is going to be really important as we get to marker number three in these feet because it's not always as simple as you think it is which is the danger of reading pictures as opposed to live feet because you don't always get to ask the client what their feeling is about the particular marker so with these feet I actually got to chat with the person and we ironed out some details that I was unclear about and it really allowed us to have a deeper conversation with what was happening in these feet so let's talk about the dorsal aspect so the dorsal aspect just as a reminder represents the back of the body whereas the plantar surface the bottom of the feet the soles of the feet represents the front of the body or the ventral side of the body so when we're looking at the dorsal aspect were referring to the back body but then we're also from the mental emotional standpoint referring to the surface of someone or what the world can see if somebody is not wearing shoes we can't see the underside of their feet when their feet are planted on the ground we can see the dorsal surface so this is kind of how they are presenting to the world it's very much the surface view of what is happening in somebody's life both physically and mentally and emotionally so marker number one line over the occiput reflex so I will circle that in just a second I believe unless my powerpoint is glitching and even then you can still see it if you look half way down the big toe you can see that really dramatic crease and when we think of the big toe this is what I talked about my post yesterday on Instagram and Facebook is the big toe pad represents the headspace but then the neck of the big toe represents the neck area so halfway in between those areas at the interphalangeal joint we have what would be the occiput reflex kind of where the skull attaches to the spinal column and when we have a line over this area it indicates that the occiput itself has become weak and that can be a dangerous thing when we see lines they represent weakness so if you think of the occiput as being weak it's like c1 c2 vertebra area are constantly popping in and out of place they might have headaches due to weakness or fatigue the back of their head they might feel the need to massage and on a regular basis because it feels quote-unquote tight but it's not really tight it's actually weak it's fatigued and we can even see in some of the other toes as well specifically the third toe oh hey Adam Adam jumped on respond to my facebook message so when we look at the third toe the third toe you can see even more like sporadic lining and did that sporadic lining when it's on online with the third toe also tells us that there's a dietary component as well so little advanced stuff but definitely overall we can see in multiple toes that there is this fatigue that's happening in the next space which is not ideal marker number two is vascularity so we see vascularity in the feet when there is a physical fluid retention issue when the vessels rise to the surface it means that the the circulatory system isn't as glued down it isn't as stable as it should be this physically indicates that the person is prone to water retention but then mentally and emotionally it also represents that they are skin skinned they have less of a protective barrier emotionally and so they tend to be hypersensitive their boundaries tend to be a little bit less clear they tend to be tend to be very empathetic empathic very in touch with their environment but also very affected by their environment so we're seeing this story start to build that this person is hyper sensitive but then also that that hyper sensitivity is really taxing their mental space physically this is because the dorsal surface represents that back body it could be that they actually have some fluid buildup in the spine on the back body specifically around the kidney area so hydration could be part of the equation when we think of the the lines as literal you know sunken in places the way that you fill in suck in areas is with fluid and mass water is one of the easiest ways to do that so that could be part of the equation as well here are those two circles around the occiput reflex reflex so just zoning in on those lines indicating that weakness at the base of the skull but then also that vascularity and this is you can really see that those veins pop in what would be horizontal zone 3 but also a little bit and 4 so really telling us that it's that core area where the fluid is being retained okay so here are the planter aspects of the feet and this is where it gets super fascinating because we're already seeing some confirming markers to what we saw in the dorsal surface but also the top of the feet representing the surface and the back body this is the front body but also what's kept internally so when we see and various cultures have a various stigmas of the feet for this reason in Indian culture and Hindu culture it's it's very common to hear that flashing the soles of your feet to someone directly is considered an insult and that is very much I think because there's a stigma around the sole of the feet really representing the innermost part of a person and it is hidden most of the time we stuff it we stuff our feet and socks and shoes and we often really shelter this part of our foot but it is the the part of the foot that really tells us the most about an individual the most innermost aspects the most is the mostest yes so marker number three the clients request was what are these bumps so this was the original start to our conversation it was the idea that there were these let's see if my circles yep my circles popped up and then this one as well so there if these three fluid-filled bumps that the client had a little bit of a question about that spurred the conversation but when it this person kind of slid their finger over them they were not hard they were not fibromas they were not dense solidified tissue they were fluid filled and this is where it really gets interesting is we saw the dorsal aspect of the foot as being hyper vascular right so that's a water marker that's the circulation not being appropriate but then on the plantar surface we're also seeing a water marker a fluid filled pouch in the reflexes and we're seeing at two spots in zone three where we saw a large majority of the vascularity on the dorsal surface as well but then there's also a little bit of a bump in four on the left side now physically what's happening here is is a backup of circulation in both the stomach and the liver area which is not ideal but when you think of the stomach and the liver both as pumps and channels for things that are very liquid specifically blood but also in the stomach's case not only you know blood and fluid but also enzymes and that that kind that digestive mixture as it starts to pass into the small intestine there's a backup here and that's not okay so that would indicate upper digestive issues specifically acid reflux related and you can even see the the zone three issues compounded by the lines so we saw a lines on the top of the foot at the base of the neck but then we also see here in horizontal zone three those crisscross really jagged lines going back and forth and up and down are all different directions mostly in zone three just below the ball of the foot and above that proximal arch so that fluid that hydration is being pocketed but there's widespread fatigue in the reflexes as well not fun and then also we can see a little bit on the lower digestive side in zone four on the left foot so there might be some gas bloating pain in the lower GI as well but here's work it's absolutely fascinating and interesting first and foremost we saw the third toe on the dorsal aspect having those lines and that tells us again that the influence of vertical zone three the upper digestive space is very much affecting the head so there is digestive related head issues digestive related head fatigue and weakness but then also when we look at the same profile of issues from a mental emotional standpoint we see fluid pockets not just as physical fluid pockets but pockets of emotion and we see two strong fluid pockets and horizontal zone three along with a lot of lining indicating weakness and fatigue so this person is bottling up their emotions about their career and actions and they have been doing that for some time if it was just on one foot or the other then it would be time specific to either the past on the right foot or the present on the left but because we're seeing fluid pockets on both this is really telling us that hey this person has really been holding back their feelings in regards to career and actions for a very long time and it has not been addressed more recently with the left foot being the present we can see that that fluid pockets is starting to develop in horizontal zone four so that work stress is starting to bubble over into family and relationship stress telling us that they're not eating correctly it's really affecting the headspace but then stress wise they're starting to reach a critical mess and what was simply contained to a work problem is now starting to influence family and relationships and that's not good that means that the stress patterns are overall not being addressed properly so we want to make sure that we coach this client effectively both on the physical meaning but also the internal meaning of what is happening with there first and foremost they're they're upfront requests which is you know what in the heck are these bumps the reason why they came in you know it's one thing to beat around the bush and to look at other markers and to say hey this is a problem this might be an issue hey this is a really good thing but then if you're not addressing the clients request then you're not fulfilling kind of your end of the bargain in terms of hey they were interested in this one thing why didn't you talk about this one thing so although it's not totally on my list in terms of priority marker number one and to definitely set the stage but marker number three is the star of the show in this reading because it is not only what the client requested but it also gives us a lot of information okay so my answer digestive issues and career stress has started to interfere with family now let's wrap up this entire reading into a nice succinct package that we can then give to the client and then we'll talk about what didn't make the cut for this reading okay and again just to show you for some reason my circles are glitching out on me I didn't order them properly but again that idea of the lines really starting to be pronounced indicating that career fatigue and upper digest fatigue okay putting it all together so physically there's chronic neck weakness largely due to deficient diet and stress overload so we want to talk about the markers and in a way that orders them priority wise so when I first looked at the pictures of these feet the first thing that jumped out at me was that chronic neck issue and the fact that they I could just see them as I was looking at the picture just like rubbing the base of their neck because it's so uncomfortable because those bones are constantly shifting out of alignment they don't have enough tension to hold themselves in place at the chronic neck weakness largely due to deficient diet and stress we saw that third toe really sticking out in terms of lines as well that is the influence of the upper digestive space so when we start to see how the body is playing together we can see that the digestive deficiency is what's really causing the neck weakness they don't have enough fuel in the tank in order to stimulate proper muscle tone and skeletal alignment internally mentally and verbally exhausted due to mounting tensions at work that are now interfering with family life so the mentally exhausted part and verbally exhausted which is interesting we can talk about that for two seconds and the toes were so twisted great great point Adam that is actually what did not make it into the reading and we will talk about why in a second but mentally and verbally exhausted when we talk about the toes as representing the mind so as go the toes so goes the mind and vice versa but when we see chronic lining over the toes it indicates a lot of mental fatigue we could even see the nail the nails of the big toes we're starting to chip fray and get a little weak and crusty would be the best way to say it which could be due to toenail polish but it again it speaks towards that mineral deficiency that the body is having a hard time kind of focusing and concentrating it's reparative efforts but we really want to drive home the idea that the major internal stress is going to be that work issue not only is it what the client know which is you know they're kind of own communication with their body they found that issue because for some reason they looked at their foot and that's what stood out to them not the lines but the bubbles of fluid and the fact that there was only one bubble on the on the right but then it turned into two on the left means that there's mounting tension that we really need to resolve ASAP in order for other deeper tensions to release so methods of balancing if career stress is untouchable at the moment now let me let me explain why I put this there some clients will say well I can't fix my job my job is just my job I can't quit my job or you know I can't just leave my family I can't abandon them you know that excuse is totally irrelevant because I'm not asking you to do that I'm not asking you to leave your stressor I'm asking you to learn how to handle it better so I really want to be clear like if the career stress is untouchable at the moment then what you need to do what is in your control you know don't think that every time that their stress in your life that you need to run for the hills that's not healthy what needs to happen in your control in your court with your ball is then the diet needs to be the focus so if you can't shift things around career-wise and your perspective of what's happening at work then we need to focus on your diet we need to focus on your daily Maslow's hierarchy of needs fundamental nutrition intake because that's where your body is asking for the the heat the combustion the nutrients the the raw materials that it's not able to to find right now the temperature gauge to tell whether or not a dietary choice is correct will be the state of the head and neck and overall stamina to deal with daily tasks so we're breaking it down in terms of hey you'll know if you're on the right track because that first marker that we talked about that head neck issue yeah that's going to flare and you're gonna feel that tension creep up into the back of the head when you haven't eaten properly and when your tank is on empty so let that be your body is dialogue with you to say hey I need food preferably the diet needs to increase in caloric intake regularity and nutritional value so that's three square meals a day making sure that they're at the same time every single day if possible and then the nutritional value needs to increase specifically since we find water markers water needs to be balanced with fire the best way to increase the heat in your diet is through spicy foods and foods that are protein rich and what I mean by protein rich is more like lean muscle so steak tips so fish so even pork chicken like 50% of the plate needs to have some sort of heavy dense protein that will start to absorb that excess fluid that seems to be stagnating in the upper digestive system but then also we need to make sure that there's enough heat enough combustion enough metabolizing kind of spices in order to move that heaviness through the body and also to break it down internally also when we think of the body being fatigued especially in the mental space great way to cushion the nervous system and to moisten the nervous system is through taking in essential fatty acids and oils so even like tablespoon in olive oil or coconut oil throughout the day especially when symptoms are present can be a really fun suggestion however actions revolving around the work need to change in the long term otherwise the body will continue to collapse under the weight of internal thoughts and feelings we need to make sure that this person understands that yes there is a digestive component yes there is a neck component yes the body is cranky right now but the reason why it's cranky is because there is an internal work stressor that is kind of boiling over into family life right now if this is just temporary and the person thinks that this is going to be a situational aspect that will fade you know and it's just temporary stress that's absolutely fabulous however if they've been at the same job for ten years and they're in line for a promotion and you know that's the reason for the excess emotional stress maybe they need to second take a second opinion or second-guess what their initial reaction is because their body is saying that they're not managing their workload properly so that's we don't want them to be taking on more than they can chew because their body is already taking on more than then it can chew so we want to supplement with diet make sure that those needs are met make sure that it's with regular sustainable nutrient-rich food but then also to make sure that the internal stressors that are causing those fluid pockets and that emotional build-up are released as well make sense so here's what didn't make the cut although we could really drill down into right foot toe separation the width of the of the ball of the foot the the longer toe on the longer second toe multiple other markers that would just be way too much so exactly what Adam said the toes are twisted there are multiple more other markers for head and neck stuff but we already pegged that marker with our deep slash at the occiput reflex so we already found our smoking gun we don't need to find six other smoking guns to cooperate and so that's the reason why you know we didn't go deeper into the headspace and really drill down into the mental aspect of the toes however there's also the zone two that's really prominent you can see it's very wide it's somewhat pushed forward and puffy that would be the emotional state that would be chest lung that would be all that tension in the packs and shoulders not not something that we really need to focus on because that will likely fade if the digestive system has calmed down and also the client wasn't having pain there they wanted to know about why are these weird bubbles popping up and that is what we needed to focus on during the session okay so those are the aspects of this foot reading that is pretty much about it I appreciate all of you for watching thank you for jumping on and tuning in and for those of you who are watching the replay of this I hope you found it valuable subscribe it make sure to click that button if you like it join the Facebook group if you want to be a part of the conversation because that's definitely where the conversation is being had if you're interested in foot reading then definitely make sure to pick up my book foot reading a reflexology primer on foot assessment but also you know definitely check out books by sue Rix and James jihun and the Maurice emoji and the association of reflexologist over in the UK you know so much material is available online now that wasn't available when I started so make sure to do your research do your homework and delve in because there's a lot of cool stuff happening and what's the other videos too and stay tuned because I've got tons of other stuff planned and lots of other fun videos and webinars that will be taking place as well so let me escape from here and we will flip back into the unscreened shared mode and also I don't know how many of you realize that my camera picture is much clearer that is because I just bought a new camera just a cute logitech 1080p one but definitely let me know if you like the difference in my webcam because I think that it looks much better but anyway that is your foot reading video for today if you have any comments questions concerns you can always reach me at Sam at Foot whisper calm send me pictures of your feet I will be launching a project over the next couple months where I will be asking for tons of feet specifically a hundred that's all I'm gonna say but I hope that you have a fantastic rest of the day and I will talk with you soon
